About
Owen Rivera is Curb Records’ newest and youngest artist based in Los Angeles.
Discovered by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) at the age of 4, OWEN was immediately placed into NAMM’s Museum of Making Music summer camp for teenagers, where he headlined the end of the session show. This caught the eye of the admissions department of The Musicians Institute in Hollywood that was in attendance. The Musicians Institute invited him for a tour of the campus and to sit in on drumming classes as well. While at MI, he came to the attention of SoulTone Cymbals and signed his first endorsement deal at five years old. He was then put into studios in LA to train, surrounded by many great artists (Tenacious D was his favorite neighbor).
NAMM was impressed with Owen and invited him to perform at their prestigious Red Carpet Gala featuring Greg Walker of the Grammy-winning band Santana. The event was a big success, and he has been featured at NAMM’s yearly Gala ever since performing and opening for artists such as Joan Osborne, William Bell, Mavis Staples, and most recently Jason Mraz and Graham Nash.
These performances led to many opportunities and friendships with top talent in the music industry. At eight years old, one of his fondest memories was being invited to Mavis Staples’ personal studio to watch her record. Being with Mavis in the studio and talking about the meanings behind her songs and songwriting was a truly special experience. Owen has been blessed to be mentored by – and work professionally with – some of the best award-winning artists in the industry today, including Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Star), Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper), Rafael Moreira (Christina Aguilera), Arianna Powell (Halsey, Olivia Rodrigo) Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty), Molly Miller (Jason Mraz) Alex Alessandroni Jr (Paul Stanley, Bobby Brown, Christina Aguilera), Kevin Gruft (MGK, Travis Barker, Gwen Stefani).
Owen has been featured on the Tom Petty Sirius XM Radio Show multiple times, as well as in numerous interviews in various music business publications. He has endorsement deals with SJC Drums (signed at eight years old), Tycoon Percussion (signed at nine years old), and Ernie Ball (signed at 12 years old), as well as previously mentioned Soultone Cymbals (signed at five years old).
Additionally, Owen is a successful SAG-AFTRA voice-over talent and actor. He has starred in the hit Emmy-nominated TV show Super Wings as the lovable “Donny” and the character “Rusty” on the hit Nickelodeon show The Loud House. He has worked on many commercial projects with major corporations such as Amazon, Old Navy, and Kellogs. His journey in the acting world is ongoing, as he is currently in discussions for future projects.
Recently, for his social media platforms, Owen has been recording covers of his favorite classic songs that have inspired and influenced him. He has deep roots in Puerto Rico, where his mother’s entire family is from. His love and passion for Puerto Rico inspires him to include Spanish twists in his songs and music.
Be sure to look for his music on the big screen, too. He is featured in two upcoming motion pictures…. My Home Unknown (Cages) and Neon Highway (Fiesta in Old Mexico).
Owen has been endlessly in the studio working on his new, original music…coming soon from Curb Records.
